    I am a single mother of a precious four year old boy.We have no family .I have turned everywhere for help,have managed to get foodstamps.I am a victim of domestic violence but there isnt a shelter in this state that will take both women and children and i refuse to be seperated from my child.I have managed to get us into a trailer,we are trying to make it livable although it should be condemned. we have one small heater to keep us warm.no refridgerator and no hot water heater .I want so much better for my son i have carried him walking with me to put in job applications still no luck i have a lady who lets me clean her house every two weeks but that just covers basic nessesities for two weeks .all i am asking is for a little bit of help i want to do this for myself but my bills cant wait my lights will be disconnected on the 17th and my water will be on the 19th

    I received the check for December 18, 2011 and I was so excited that I got it. But when I check the mail is was only $50.00. I was very upset and wondering why would they would mislead me like that. But God is always good. I didn’t even have that in my pocket. Hopefully I win the next drawing and get my full amount. :(

    I hope this year be a good year for me. I had to relocate and leave my job to be closer to my sickly mother. I am an only child so I am the only next of kin. So far, I have been on 1 job interview but with no results. I was informed last night that my mom has to move in with me. I am living with a relative, so I really hope GOD shares his blessings with me…

    I am hoping the new year will be better for me. Last year i had to leave the father of my young toddler girls because he decided drugs was more important. now im living with friends til i can get my own place. a little crowded here so i hope it is soon. Its really tough doing this all by myself but i know things will work out for the better.

    I would like to make new friends that is going through the same things i am. Im also looking for housing i just called one housing in my area and they said the deadline is close. If anybody knows anything like free websites for housing please let me know. I want to follow through and have my own place. I am a good mother of one and my son will be here in a couple of months my new year resolution is to get my own place. this is my last year of school.and it will be hard with two kids now so if anybody know have any information please let me know. i dont recieve child support only food stamps and medicaid

    Life sucks but I’m maintaining for me and my kids. I lost my section 8 bout four months ago because I couldn’t get my electric back on. So me and my two kids being staying with my mom,but it’s time for us to get place of our own now.     looking for housing assistance. I would like to have a place called my own for once i am tired of living with people and the thing is I have no say in anything because it is not my place. My daughter does not even call me Mama and saying no your not mama and that really hurt my feelings because we do not have our own family. Everybody else is family and i feel like im just the babysitter

    Hey world this is whats on my mind. I have two kids, a college student and trying to get my own place. My daughter birthday is christmas eve and it will be hard giving her a party be it will be cold outside. I was a single parent of one but now i am of two.     Whats going on world? I’m new to this right here. I know times are very hard for all of us. I’m a single father, I have 3 children with the custody of 2. 1 girl and 2 boys. My daughter is my oldest, so you know she’s my princess! Her B-day is this month, right before X-mas. That is the almost, if not the worst B-Day, as a parent that one of your children can have when you already spent on X-mas presents and you are limited to the little funds that you now have. Something have to give. Hopefully hitting the lottery will be my biggest X-mas gift ever. LOL. How bout that? Any way, hope every one who reads this post will have a blessed day even for those who didn’t get to read it. 1 luv!

    when most people think of thanksgiving the first thought that comes to mind is food..but what about the true meaning of the holiday?We may not have much to be thankful for but the Lord has given us another day to breathe ,our children are healthy,may not have a huge turkey to cook but you know what ..I woke up this morning ,so everything else is just a bonus.God bless you all and happy holidays.

    Hello am justing sitting thanking god for his many blessing trying my best stay postive . I moved back here three months ago and I been going threw alot left kentucky think me and my four girls were going find place here in in chicago with my family but its not going as planed right now am staying with my cuz who has full house cant really stay with any other family cause they have full house as well its getting to the point where we migt haVE GO TO SHELTER!and on top all this am disabled and sick right now my heart is acting up and am n out the hospital so pray for me tat I win that money cause lord knows me and my kids need it have blessed hoilday everyone.

    how do they choose winners for this stuff because i have applied for the grant three months in a row and have been denied.dont know why i did everything i was suppose to ive seen people approved with no photo and just said “whats up” and with no votes .what is the point of pouring your heart out and begging for help if it is chosen at random who wins?
